NATURAL HIGHS OF CHILL: ENLIGHTEN YOURSELF: WHAT YOU CAN DO
Buy a blue light
Put it in your living room or bedroom. Alternatively, you can improvise in any way that increases the colour blue in the rooms you relax in, for instance by using blue lampshades or a regular bulb made of blue glass.
Dim the lights
Really bright light has a stimulating effect, which is why we instinctively dim the lights to relax. Candlelight is particularly relaxing. So set up your living room with plenty of candles, and turn the lights down.
Use blue glass candle holders
Blue glass nightlight containers are widely available. Pick holders that look opaque in natural daylight, and that are deep enough to obscure the candle's flame. When it is dark, the light of a nightlight candle shining through one of these will emit a deeply relaxing blue glow. Two or three candles can transform a room. Use them in your living room, bedroom and bathroom, with the lights off or dimmed.
Change to full-spectrum lighting
Full-spectrum bulbs are much better than normal bulbs for your general health, your mood and your bones, and for reducing the stress associated with normal artificial lighting.
